Call for Papers

Individual Differences Research (IDR) invites submissions for Issue 1, Volume 24 (2026) and future issues. IDR is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal publishing research across the psychological sciences, with a particular emphasis on how individual variation shapes psychological processes, behavior, and outcomes at both the individual and group levels.

IDR welcomes a wide range of contributions, including:


  • Original Research Articles (Brief Reports, Regular Articles, and Replications)
  • Theoretical and Conceptual Papers
  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
  • Methodological and Measurement Advances


Scope and Topics

Submissions may address any area of psychology, especially if they engage meaningfully with individual variation or its implications. Example topics suitable for IDR include, but are not limited to:

  • Personality traits, structure, and development
  • Cognitive styles, abilities, and intelligence
  • Emotional processes, regulation, and affective styles
  • Motivation, goals, and self-regulation
  • Social behavior, interpersonal differences, and attachment
  • Developmental pathways and life-span change
  • Clinical, health, and well-being outcomes linked to individual variation
  • Biological, genetic, neuropsychological, and evolutionary foundations of psychological differences
  • Measurement, psychometrics, and assessment innovations
  • Emerging, interdisciplinary, and niche topics in psychology where individual variation informs theory or application


Publication Process

All submissions are subject to peer review. Accepted articles are published online on a rolling basis following acceptance and are subsequently assigned to the current open issue, ensuring timely dissemination while maintaining editorial rigor. IDR is committed to a fair, constructive, and efficient review process.


IDR encourages submissions from both established scholars and emerging researchers across the global research community.
