Abstract: This study examined (N = 45) phenylthiocarbamide (PTC) tasting, alcohol use, personality, and sex. Participants completed an alcohol use questionnaire, a personality inventory, and rated the taste of PTC. For females, PTC tasting did not predict alcohol use. For males there was a substantial negative correlation between PTC tasting and alcohol use.
