Abstract: Systems Net Theory is a biological and evolutionary interpretation of the human mind and personality. It considers the relation between personality descriptive traits and reactivity of the organism's psychobiological systems. It distinguishes two types of systems: horizontal and vertical (general and specific). The two types of systems interweave to form a fabric or net. Traits or factors originate at the intersections by interaction between a vertical and a horizontal system; they are justified, therefore, from a theoretical starting point. The resulting trait matrix describes the structure of personality. This model organizes the main achievements of empirical investigation, and tries to integrate different psychological paradigms. Also, hypotheses about processes are formulated, with a view to understanding the global functioning of human personality.
