Abstract: This study examined the relationship between interest in night-sky watching (noctcaelador) and openness to experience. University students (N = 140) completed the Noctcaelador Inventory (NI) and the Openness to Experience scale of the NEO-PI-R. The results indicated that NI scores were significantly, positively related to total openness scores. Regression analyses indicated that the aesthetics, values, and fantasy facets accounted for unique variance in NI scores. The results and suggestions for future research are discussed.
