The origins of IDRP Ltd Co date to 2002 with the formation of Individual Differences Research Group (IDRG), a group of educators and researchers. The group's objective was to expand opportunities for the dissemination of scholarly work and provide publication outlets for research that often received limited attention within larger journals.

In 2003, the organization launched its first peer-reviewed journal, Individual Differences Research. Since its founding, though psychology-centric, the journal has attracted submissions from researchers across several disciplines, reflecting a longstanding interest in multidisciplinary empirical scholarship.

Over the following years, additional journals were established to serve specialized areas including Counseling and Clinical Psychology Journal (2004), the Journal of Worry and Affective Experience (2005), and later Psychology Journal, which evolved from Counseling and Clinical Psychology Journal.

As publishing activities expanded, operations evolved and were conducted under different organizational structures including IDR Publishing Ltd Co, Psychological Publishing, and Individual Differences Research Association, Inc. These changes reflected administrative and organizational developments while preserving the continuity of the journals, their archives, and their publication missions.

Publication activities paused in 2014. In 2025, IDRP Ltd Co resumed publication of Individual Differences Research and the publishing tradition begun in 2003. IDRP also preserves the archives and publication records of journals from predecessor organizations. Building on decades of publishing experiences, the Journal of International Scholarship was launched in 2026 as an evidence-based journal serving a broad range of academic disciplines.

While publisher names and administrative entities have evolved over time, the underlying mission and key editorial staff have remained consistent: to provide accessible opportunities for the publication, preservation, and dissemination of scholarly work.
