The Relationship between Worry and Family Functioning Among Young Adults
Author(s): William E. Kelly, Lisa Paolini
Abstract: To examine the possible influence of family functioning in the development of worry, 154 university students were administered the Worry Domains Questionnaire (WDQ; Tallis, Eysenck, & Mathews, 1992) and the Family Assessment Device (FAD; Epstein, Baldwin, & Bishop, 1983). WDQ scores significantly negatively correlated with total FAD scores, as well as the FAD’s Roles, Affective Involvement, Communication, and General Functioning Scales. Regression analyses indicated that the FAD Roles scale accounted for the majority of variance in WDQ scores.
