Submission Types

We consider both full length and brief empirical reports (including meta analyses and systematic reviews) and empirically-grounded theoretical works.

Before submission, please review and follow our formatting guidelines below.

We suggest having a colleague review manuscripts prior to submission. Non-native speakers not accustomed to writing in English are suggested to have their manuscript proofed by someone fluent in English,

Submission Requirements

  • Submit manuscripts as a single MS Word file.
  • Use italics rather than underlining (except for URL addresses).
  • Include DOI's and issue numbers in references of journal articles when available.
  • Manuscript sections should be in the following order:
    • Title page, Abstract (≤ 150 words) and 4-7 keywords for indexing;
    • Introduction;
    • Methods;
    • Results;
    • Discussion;
    • Acknowledgements (if any);
    • References;
    • Appendices (if any).
  • Tables and figures may be placed within the text or after references.
  • Do not insert footnotes. If footnotes are required, generate them manually denoting them with superscripts and place notes after the Discussion section.
  • Use the stylistic and reference guidelines outlined by the American Psychological Association (7th ed.).

Normally, manuscripts should be no more than 30 pages (including title page, abstract, text, references, tables, figures).

Special Notes on Tables and Figures

  • Create tables using your word processor's tables tools (go to "Insert" > "Tables"). Each entry should have a separate cell. Do not use tabs or spaces to create tables.
  • Place any N’s and p-values in a Note below the table, not in the table title.
  • Create figures with boxes and grouped elements using your word processor.
  • If you insert images as figures, these should be in high quality resolution.
