The Relationship between Nonpathological Worry and Narcissism: A Path Analytic Study Investigating the Effects of Self-Esteem and Anxiety

William E. Kelly

Abstract

The relationship between nonpathological worry and narcissism while accounting for self-esteem and anxiety was examined among a sample of 114 university students. The results indicated that narcissism positively correlated with worry. Also, accounting for self-esteem and anxiety together, but not separately, mediated the relationship between narcissism and worry. The results and implications were discussed.
